Dallas’s claim to its oldest building is a bit of a mystery. While the title is often attributed to the Dallas High School building, constructed in 1907, its status is debated due to later renovations. Another contender is the 1847 Sharrock farmstead, though it wasn’t originally built within city limits. However, the  Continental Gin Building, dating back to 1888, holds a strong case. Once a massive cotton processing facility, it now stands as a testament to Dallas’s industrial past.
